FAQs

Some frequently asked questions

  • What is We the People Warwick?

We the People Warwick is a grassroots organization that formed in early 2021 with the goals of improving the civic health of our community and identifying ways to bridge divides, build connections, and unite our community. Our mission is to foster dialogue, greater understanding and common ground among all people of Warwick ensuring that every person feels welcomed, heard and supported in the town we all love.

  • Your mission is a challenging one. How do you plan to achieve it?

It is indeed a challenging one and we are just getting started! Our spring and fall dialogue series received positive responses and we plan to continue these twice annually. We are also reaching out and meeting with various other civic, public service and religious organizations and leaders to explore how we can work together toward our mutual goals for the community. And of course we welcome all ideas. Please consider joining us!

  • I'm tired of all the arguing and nothing ever changing. Can participating with We the People Warwick really make a difference?

We are tired too. It's been an exhausting period of our history - political infighting, distrust of information sources, families divided, neighbors distant. We believe that bringing people together for dialogue, not debate, can help us begin to understand each other’s perspectives. Our programs provide a safe place to do this and are designed to help participants hold open, honest, and constructive conversations. There is room at the table for everyone and every point of view.

  • Does We the People Warwick have a political stance?

We do not. We are a non-partisan grassroots movement that invites and welcomes all points of view with the objective of listening to understand one another’s perspectives and to explore the possibility of common ground. Our goal is to strengthen the community’s role in identifying core values, addressing concerns in a positive fashion, and advocating for the safety, acceptance, and support of all families. If you have an idea or know of an event that you believe would lead to greater understanding among our neighbors, please reach out so that we can consider promoting it.

  • How can I learn more or get involved with We the People Warwick?

The first step is to participate in one of our upcoming dialogue series. To keep abreast of these and other activities, please explore the rest of our website, click here to share your contact details and receive our updates, and/or contact us at WeThePeopleWarwick@gmail.com.
