Golden Rules

We ask that you keep your account updated, make sure your contact info is accurate and that you are willing and able to provide the services you have listed as able to provide.

Responsiveness

It can be frustrating to contact members who say they provide a service and not hear back. We ask every member to: respond to a request within 48 hours, even if it is just to let the requester know you are unable to provide that service at this time.

Sufficient Notice

Warwick Time Exchange is not an emergency service. Please contact members a week or more in advance of when you wish to provide or receive a service.

Hours

Phone people during reasonable hours (between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.) unless they have expressly given you permission to do so outside of these times. You can enter the best times to contact you and when you are available to provide a service in the service description.

Timeliness

Be on time to appointments, if you cannot make an appointment, please give at least a 24 hour cancellation notice.

Clarity

Be clear in your service description what it is you are offering and any relevant experience you have. If you are a licensed professional, you may wish to include your license number.

If a task needs special tools or equipment, it is up to the requester of the service to provide those, for example a lawnmower and gas.

Recommendation

You may wish to ask other members for recommendations on who they have received services from and how their experience was.

Comfort

Do not invite anyone into your home, your vehicle, or around your children, or enter anyone else’s home or vehicle if you are not fully comfortable.

Integrity

Do not solicit other members for personal financial gain or promote your political, religious, or other personal beliefs.

Supervision

Individuals under the age of 18 may only be involved in exchanges with consent of their parent or legal guardian and with adult supervision. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to be present or have an agreement with another adult to serve as supervisor for such an exchange.

Safety First

If there is an accident, please notify the appropriate authorities (police, fire, ambulance, etc.) and then notify the Warwick Time Exchange Coordinator when you can. Always remember safety first and to err on the side of caution.

Equity

If you are low on hours, ask for an hour estimate with your requests. You can have a negative debt of up to 10 hours. If you go over that limit and do not try to contact an administrator or earn back hours, your services may be suspended or your account deactivated.

Support

There may be times when members need help but are unable to offer a service. If this is the case, contact an administrator to apply for up to 20 hours from Warwick Time Exchange Compassionate Fund. Members donate hours they earned to the Compassionate Fund which can then be used to help support members in need.
